Tripartite Council
The Tripartite Council of the Republic of Lithuania was set up on 5 May 1995 following an agreement on tripartite partnership between the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, trade unions and employers' organisations for the purpose of solving social, economic and labour problems and promoting social harmony. The Tripartite Council approved the rules and regulations on its own activity on the same occasion. From January 2003, the social dialogue and partnership in Lithuania has been regulated by the Labour Code.
The Tripartite Council is a body, which advises the parliament and the government on socio-economic and labour matters.
